Embun Spek was founded with a classic spirit and a rebellious objective: to offer designer eyewear at a revolutionary price, while leading the way for socially conscious businesses. The name Embun came from the founder's scottish fold cat and Spek is the local slang of eyewear. We are a proud Malaysia brand and our vision is to be a top eyewear brand in SoutheastAsia.
Every idea starts with a problem. Ours was simple: prescription glasses are too expensive. We ourselves know how hard it is to take care of your eyeglass and accidents do happen. Our founder starts with the same problem, the replacement cost is so high we end up squinting and complaining for the whole month. We try to look at the cheapest prescription glasses but the quality of the eyeglasses is too disappointing. How many of you have been in the same situation?
We were amazed at how hard it was to find a pair of great frames that didn’t leave our wallets bare. Where were the options?
It turns out there was a simple explanation. The eyewear industry is dominated by a single company that has been able to keep prices artificially high while reaping huge profits from consumers who have no other options. The rest are relying on fake imitation eyewear or super low quality to help reduce cost. This is ludicrous.
We started Embun Spek to create an alternative.
By circumventing traditional channels, designing glasses in-house, cutting the middleman and engaging with customers directly, we’re able to provide higher-quality, better-looking prescription eyewear at a fraction of the going price.
We believe that buying glasses should be easy and fun. It should leave you happy and good-looking, with money in your pocket.
We also believe that everyone has the right to see.
We are starting our own waqaf program in which we provide charity to orphanage house. Our program will start in Shah Alam before expanding it to other area. For every eyeglasses you buy, you are contributing to people in need.
There’s nothing complicated about it. Good eyewear, good outcome.
